Failure Code | Fault Code Description | Solution |
---|---|---|
1E, LE, 1C, LC, LC1, 1 1C, 1 LC | Water level or leakage error | Moisture is detected somewhere it doesn’t belong, or there is an issue with the sensor itself.
nF, 4C, 4E, 1 4C | Not filling error | Water is not entering the washer correctly.
nF1, 4C2, 4E2, CE, 14C2 | Hot/cold error | The water from the cold water supply is extremely hot. This happens when the supply hoses are swapped and cold is connected to hot while hot is connected to cold. To fix this, connect the cold supply to the cold inlet and the hot supply to the hot inlet. Typically, this will require matching blue to blue and red to red. This code does not indicate that service is needed.
nd, 5E, SE, 5C, SC, 1 5C | No drain error | Water is not draining from the washer at the correct speed (or at all).
OE, 0E, OC, 0C, 1 OC, 1 0C | Overflow error | There is too much water in the washer.
E2, bE2, 6E2, BE2*, 8E2* | Jammed button error | A button on the panel is detected as stuck or continuously pressed. To fix this, power off the washer, and then individually touch every button on the panel. While touching each button, work it back and forth to reach all edges before releasing. *On some models, BE2 (8E2) is a Jammed Button Error. On some models it is a Mems Sensor Error (located in the All Other Errors section). See your user manual to determine which it is for your model.
9C1, 9C2, PF, 3E*, 2E, 9E1, 9E2, UC, 19C1, 19C2 | Voltage error | There is an irregularity in the electrical current being supplied to the washer. A PF (Power Failure) Error will also occur if the power went out before the washer powered itself off, such as an outage, the washer getting unplugged, or if the circuit breaker trips. Models that are not in their country of origin may give this error code because power grids and their regulations vary between countries. To fix this, confirm the washer is on its own circuit and not using an extension cord. *On some models, 3E is a Voltage Error. On other models it is a Motor Error (located in the All Other Errors section). See your user manual to determine which it is for your model.
dS, d5, FL, LO, L0, dE, dE1, dE2, dC*, dC1, dL, 1 dC, 1dC4, 1dC1 | Door error | The door is not detected as closed and locked. Check that the latch is securely fixed, laundry or other items are not caught in the door, and the door is closed and secured correctly. Note:
*On some models, dC is a Door Error. On some models it is an Unbalanced Load Error. See your user manual to determine which it is for your model.
SDC, 5DC | Detergent drawer error | The detergent drawer is not completely closed. The detergent drawer will click when it is completely closed.
SUd, 5UD, Sd, 5d, SUdS, 5Ud5 | Excessive suds error | The washer has detected an over-sudsing condition and will stop for a short period to allow the suds to dissipate. The cycle will automatically continue afterwards, although the code may flash again at the end of the cycle as a reminder. This code does not indicate that service is needed. It is caused from an incorrect use of detergent.
ddC, dC3 | Add Door error | The Add Door is not detected as closed and locked. Check that the latch is securely fixed, laundry or other items are not caught in the Add Door, and the Add Door is closed and secured correctly.
dc*, Ub, U6, Ur, UE, 1 Ub, 1U6 | Unbalanced Load Error | The current load in the washer is unbalanced inside the tub. A Ur code (Unbalanced Load Retry) means the washer is going to try to add more water, try to balance the load, and then try the spin cycle again. This will extend the length of the cycle. All the other codes in this section mean the washer will stop and fail to complete the cycle. *On some models, dc is an Unbalanced Load Error. On other models it is a Door Error. See your user manual to determine which it is for your model.
Cb, C6 | Calibration mode | Calibration mode is used to recalibrate the weight detection of the washer. Weight detection is used to adjust the water amount used per cycle. It’s a step typically performed at the very end of installation. Calibration mode will rotate the tub or drum back and forth for 1-3 minutes and then end by itself. However, Calibration mode will not calibrate correctly unless the washing machine is empty. If there is something in the washing machine, remove it and then run Calibration mode again with the washer empty, so your washer is properly calibrated. See your user manual for instructions on Calibration mode.
CL | Child Lock | On newer models of washers, this code will display when Child Lock mode has drained water from the tub. It does this whenever Child Lock mode is turned on, the level of water in the tub is unsafe, and the door has been opened. To clear the code, turn the washer off and back on, or turn off Child Lock.
dn | Downloading | The washer is downloading an update. During the update, the controls will not respond, including the dial. Updates take about 15 minutes and the message will disappear when the update is complete. Keep the washer powered on while the download completes.
Refill detergent or softener | Your auto dispenser is empty and needs refilling. The message will clear during the next cycle you run after filling the compartment(s). The detergent message will clear during the wash cycle, and the softener message will clear during the rinse cycle.
| |
All other errors | These errors typically relate to sensors or the electronic components in the washer reporting that they are not working correctly. Samsung has many different makes and models of washers. If you do not see an error you have received, or if any of the errors below occur:
